Trail #115 Foster City To Kimichick’s Bridge:

2/19/2008
Trail #5- Fumee Jct. to Leeman Road:
Time: 9:30am to 2:30pm
Condition of trail: Fresh groomed.
Brushing: Satisfactory.
Signing: For the most part good. With the exceptions below.

1- Need Truck Traffic signs along plowed portion of trail near Trepanier’s, (Rick Gendron’s drive way/road).
2- Take down Truck Traffic signs where they are no longer needed.
3- More Truck Traffic signs are needed along the plowed portion of the Carney Lake Road (maybe every ½ mile or so).
4- At the intersection of the Carney Lake Road and Rock Lake Road, Stop Ahead and Stop signs and posts need to be placed on the Carney Lake Road, (see page 4, “STOP SIGN” in the Sign Handbook).
5- On the Groveland Mine Road from M-69 south to the area of the big pump in Steinbrecher’s field, it looked to me the trail is using the east shoulder of the county road. If that is the case the snowmobile traffic should be directed to use both shoulders of the county road to flow the same direction as the vehicle traffic. Please look at pages 18 & 19 of the Signing Handbook.
6- Need new post for Stop sign at M-69 and Groveland Mine Road. The old post was broke off by the snow plow (I repaired the existing post with some nails but still needs to be replaced soon).
7- Hazard Marker needed on both sides of power pole guy wire just east of Groveland Mine Rd. on south side of M-69, (this should be done A.S.A.P. as it is a hazard to the snowmobiler).
8- Service Information (gas & food) signs with mileage should be placed indicating the way to the Nordic Trading Post.
9- Stop Ahead and Stop signs should be placed for all traffic to stop at the Wells Grade intersection on the power line.
10- West Jct. of Trail 5 & 16 (on Wells Grade Rd.) needs Stop Ahead and Stop signs placed for all traffic to stop. Also need destinations and mileage.
11- Bridge Ahead sign needed for south bound traffic on bridge just south of Wells Grade Rd. on trail #5.

All and all the trail looked real good.
Please tell the club to keep up the good work.
